Calci Bears
Calcium for the young

Containing Calcium and Vitamin D, these easy-to-chew gummy Calci Bears are a great helping hand for growing bones! Made up of four sour fruit flavours - orange, strawberry, lemon and cherry - and free from artificial colours and sweeteners.
Findings from the 'National Diet & Nutrition Survey' (2006) showed that many children have low or even marginal intake for calcium and vitamin D - both vital nutrients for a growing child.
Vitamin D helps to maintain bone and muscle health whilst calcium - found particularly in dairy products - can ensure healthy bone formation. The two nutrients work in synergy supporting the utilisation of one another when in the body.
Children under 5 who are vegetarian or allergic to milk-based products are particularly susceptible and are therefore recommended by the Department of Health to be taking a calcium supplement.
The Cambridge Bone Study (on behalf of the Medical Research Council) highlighted that the calcium intake of teenagers - especially girls - is concerningly low and that calcium supplementation showed a significant increase in bone mineral content. It also found most 4-6 year olds to have insufficient vitamin D status - whihc may affect growth and enhance fracture risk.
Each Calci-Bear provides 2.5mcg of Vitamin D and 100mg of Calcium.
