Pine Bark Extract is a super antioxidant made from the bark of a French pine tree. As well as being able to fight free radicals Pine Bark Extract has shown to be beneficial in maintaining good circulation, a healthy skin structure and for those that suffer from hay fever.

Research carried out at the University of California last year found that george Pine Bark Extract can slow down photo ageing (sun damage) to skin by up to 50%. The research confirmed that Pine Bark Extract maintains the skin's healthy structure for longer by binding with collagen and elastin to prevent them from being broken down, while destroying the free radicals that try to attack the skin's structure.

A more recent discovery at the University of South Florida has shown that Pine Bark Extract dramatically increases the skin's blood circulation by strengthening the skin's capillaries and so helping to prevent the formation of thread and varicose veins.

By improving blood flow and maintaining the vessels, French Pine Bark can help relax constricted blood vessels and block the release of histamines - which are the culprits for itchy noses and 'that stuffed up feeling' experienced by hayfever sufferers. A study in the Journal of Phytotherapy Research found that French Pine Bark could block 70% of histamines from airborne allergens.
